ESM Takes the Court at the Pro Padel League in New York

Guille Cagigas and Luice Perez brought ESM to one of the biggest stages in US padel, competing across two New York venues over four days.

Two of our athletes stepped onto one of the biggest stages in US padel. Guille Cagigas and Luice Perez both competed at the Pro Padel League in New York from July 9 through 12, Guille in PPL at the historic Hammerstein Ballroom and Luice in PPL II at Padel Haus Greenpoint, and we could not be prouder to have had ESM represented.

For us, this one was about the moment as much as the scoreline. Seeing our athletes compete at this level, in venues like these, in front of crowds that came out for padel, is exactly the kind of trajectory we signed up for when we started building ESM.

For Guille, this was his debut competing at the PPL level, coming just weeks after being the only player drafted up from PPL 2. Guille has been with ESM since our very first day, so watching him take the court in New York carried a little extra weight for all of us.

“Playing at this level was amazing,” Guille said. “Competing in New York, with my team behind me, I had the time of my life. This is what all the work has been for.”

For Luice, this marked her second time out in PPL II. The current number one ranked woman in USPA, Luice has been a force on the women’s side of US padel since joining ESM in March, and she brought that same competitive fire to New York.

“It wasn’t the result I wanted this time, but that is part of the season,” Luice said. “I’m excited to keep pushing and to come back stronger in Los Angeles.”

Next up, the tour heads to Los Angeles, and both Guille and Luice will be back on court. New York was a statement that ESM belongs at this level, and we are just getting started.

Onward to LA.
